Federal Way, Washington
Federal Way is a city located halfway between Seattle and Tacoma and has a population of just over 88,000 people. Federal Way is a relatively new city, and was only incorporated in 1990. The city is home to Weyerhaeuser, one of the largest timber owners in the world. Federal Way's school district not only calls itself a "leader in continual innovation among public schools in the state and nation", they have the studies to back it up. In 2004, Federal Way's schools were named in a list of the 10 highest performing districts in the state. The school system focuses on professional development and staff coaching, as it believes this is the key to educational success. The school system includes 23 elementary schools, 7 middle schools, and 5 high schools. Advanced placement curriculums are available at all high schools, and some also feature IB programs.

How far is the airport from downtown Federal Way and can I get there easily and cheaply?
Federal Way is within a short distance of several local airports. Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and Boeing Field-ing County International Airport are both about 20 to 30 minutes from downtown, depending on traffic. Spanaway Airport is also just a quick 35-45 drive from the city.
