Fairburn isn't known for any one food or restaurant in particular. However, like the rest of the South, comfort food and pies are popular throughout the Fairburn area. Fairburn is full of barbeque joints, pizza parlors, and all the typical fast food chains. Fairburn is also home to a variety of ethnic restaurants, including Chinese and Mexican, and a few fine dining restaurants.

What do people in Fairburn do as far as outdoor recreation?
There is much to do in the way of outdoor recreation in Fairburn. Within the city itself, Clarence Duncan Park is the nexus of athletic activity in the area. Featuring football, baseball, softball, and T-ball fields, as well as tennis courts, hiking trails, picnic tables, and a lake, this park is also home to an indoor swimming pool with a retractable roof. Larger parks in the region include Sweetwater Creek State Park, which is located about 30 minutes north of Fairburn and offers biking, birding, golf and disc golf, fishing, boating, swimming, tennis, hiking, backpacking, picnicking, and horseback riding. Chattahoochee Bend State Park, located about an hour southwest of Fairburn, caters to paddlers, campers, anglers, and, with more than six miles of wooded trails, hikers.

Collegiate athletics are also an important part of Atlanta's sporting landscape. The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, for example, participate in 17 intercollegiate sports in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
