From its humble beginnings as a 12-bed hospital that opened its doors in the late 1800s, Englewood Hospital and Medical Center has become a major asset to its community. The facility's commitment to high-quality care has clearly paid off; the hospital and its staff have earned awards in several different areas, including recognition for patient survival rates, high safety scores, and an excellent nursing staff. In addition to acting as a full-service hospital, the Englewood Medical Center has offices where patients can make regular visits to doctors and nurses from a variety of practice areas.
Flat Rock Brook Natur
Though Englewood is built, like many American cities, on the site of formerly forested land, the Flat Rock Brook Nature Center helps to preserve some of that original forest. Situated on 150 acres, this nature center was established in the 1970s by Englewood citizens who wanted to save what they could of the Palisades forest. Today, Flat Rock Brook is a fantastic resource for the Englewood community, with public trails for nature walks in addition to a comprehensive education center that is home to wild animals in need of rehabilitation or extended care.
