“All’s well that ends well,” may as well be written about this little subdivision of a city. Having started as a logging and agricultural site where mostly farmers and rural workers resided, it is amazing to see the city of Endwell in its present state. Thanks to the nearby IBM headquarters, the demand for housing skyrocketed in the mid 1900s and converted this farm town into prime real estate for single-family homes. Today, you would hardly recognize it, but it still maintains its small-town charm.

Highland Park

You cannot have a small town without the traditional city park. In Endwell, the largest and most popular green space has to be Highland Park. With multiple pavilions for barbecuing and picnicking, a basketball court, gymnasium, baseball field, volleyball court, and public pool, they have all their bases covered for summertime fun. Mingle with your neighbors, catch up on town gossip, play with the kids, it can all be enjoyed on this peaceful little stretch of rolling green hills and wide open spaces. The park is open year round, but gets much less attendance in the winter months for obvious reasons.

Festive Fireworks

Every year, Endwell throws a huge festival in Highland Park to celebrate the country’s independence. The annual Fourth of July Fireworks display and festival is one event not to be missed. The entire town comes out for the show and activities, and you can of find yourself bumping into dozens of people you may know. The kids love playing with sparklers while the adults sip on their beverage of choice. It is a truly American way to celebrate Independence Day, and Endwell does it right with a parade, fireworks, food stalls, and so much more.
