If you enjoy the thrill of rubbing shoulders with local farmers, craftsmen, and artists is your cup of tea, you will love the East Point Farmers Market. Running from May to October on select days of the week, and every third Saturday every month, market goers will find a colorful selection of the freshest produce, handmade foods, crafts and sometimes, unique, locally made works of art. East Point Possums Sh

What started as a colorful backyard party some 16 years ago burgeoned into a full-fledged festival of sorts. The original creators of the East Point Possums Show were invited to a costume-themed Independence Day celebration, and the foursome decided to get outfitted in the most outrageous drag ensembles they could find. After performing for fellow guests, the East Point Possums were born and, once their tip jar began to overflow and the crowd overgrew the confines of a backyard, the event took on a life of its own. The event now occurs the Saturday before Gay Pride and raises thousands of dollars for local nonprofits
