About East Meadow, NY
The town of East Meadow was originally designated as a grazing land for both cattle and sheep, producing more than 50 percent of the wool found in the United States. The area has come a long way since those early days, as the 20th century brought modern living and residential neighborhoods to the area. East Meadow is now considered one of New York's premiere suburbs, with tree-lined streets and children playing in yards and playgrounds throughout.

Eating Great in East

East Meadow is home to a host of highly rated restaurants covering a wide range of cuisines. Margarita's Cafe is one of the most unique restaurants in the area. This authentically Mexican cuisine cafe serves traditional fare and even features a live Mariachi band from time to time for a fun night out. You should also pay a visit to Uncle Giuseppe's Marketplace for fresh Italian fare seven days a week. A restaurant and food shop in one, everything from produce through top quality meats and mouth-watering thick sandwiches are on the offer at Giuseppe's.

Fun in the Sun

East Meadow is very close to several stunning beaches where you can swim, surf, feel the sand beneath your feet, and bask in the sun. Lido Beach, Point Lookout, Harbor Isle, and Bay Park are all within a short distance, allowing you to spend time outdoors feeling the ocean air. Lido Beach is highly populated during the warm summers, while Bay Park provides a dog run and a number of sports fields, as well ample picnic areas. Point Lookout Park is one of the most beautiful parks in New York and offers you a chance to roam the beautiful coastline and relax the day away.
