Sweetwater Days

You will find Douglasville has a lot to offer recreation-wise. Outdoor recreational facilities are abundant, including the West Pines Golf Club, which is a public golf course, to any number of parks, sports fields, and swimming pools. Nearby Sweetwater State Park has plenty of running, biking and hiking trails as well as Sparks Reservoir. Deer Lick Park and the Douglas County Skate Park are also nearby for those who want to ride the rails and perform skating and skateboarding tricks. With Atlanta only a short drive away, you can have access to all the outdoor activities that a world class-city can offer.

Gumbo at Gumbeaux

One of the top-rated restaurants in town gives you a feel for real Southern cooking. Gumbeaux's Cajun Cafe serves up some of the best seafood anywhere in the Atlanta area. Taste of Thai also gets high marks for serving simple Thai food in a very nice atmosphere. There are also a number of Japanese, Italian, and steakhouses in the area. You will find plenty of fast food and chain-type places along with locally owned ones like the Bankhead Diner, where you can get a fantastic breakfast or the enormous breakfast buffet at the Golden Corral.

Late-night Fun

Taco Mac is not only a restaurant, it is also a sports bar. Taco Mac has TVs everywhere and cheap beer on tap. Other great places to catch a game, hang out with friends, and make new ones are the Hometown Grill and Topps. Irish Bred is a great little pub if you like your venues a bit quieter. For big nights out, there is a Buffalo Wild Wings in town for fans of hot, spicy chicken wings. Atlanta is the place to go for live music and dancing venues, but Douglasville is chock full of local places to explore and hang out.
