The Bayou

The bayou helps define the city of Dickinson so spending the day enjoying all it has to offer will make you feel right at home. The bayou is made of rolling prairie, calcareous clays, mesquite, grasses, and cacti that allow you to take in the beauty nature has to offer. Fishing is popular in the bayou, as it is home to perch, trout, and saltwater fish. If you prefer a more active outing, spend the day canoeing, water skiing, or swimming. No matter how you spend your time, you will be captivated by the bayou’s uniqueness.

Delicious Food

Dickinson is a city proud of its fine dining and cuisine options that foodies will delight in. When you crave a meal that will delight the taste buds, visit one of the many restaurants in the area. No matter what type of food you desire, you will find what you seek. AJ's Meat Market and Smokehouse provides Texas-style slow smoked BBQ that beats out the competition. When in the market for something a little more unique, visit Fish Place Café. This casual eatery serves a variety of seafood that will leave your mouth watering for more.

Fesitval of Lights

When it comes time to make new holiday traditions, be sure to check out the Festival of Lights. Held November through January of each year in Dickinson, the festival reflects the outstanding community involvement of the area. Residents both young and old take part in the event by helping to create a breathtakingly beautiful light display. While you view the magnificent lights, stop by one of the concession stands and enjoy a snack or take the little ones to visit Santa for a memorable pic. You will find cooking, decorating, and other kid-friendly events held throughout the festival's duration as well.
