Sundays in the Park

Every Sunday evening in the warmer months of the Spring and Summer, the Allegany Arts Council hosts an event by the name of Sundays in the Park. The event supports local exposure to the arts by bringing in regional chamber music or jazz talent for a concert at the Constitution Park Amphitheater. The event is free and open to the public, so all that is needed is a blanket or a lawn chair and a nice picnic dinner. Thanks to programs like this, there is really no excuse not to go get exposed to some culture.

Alpacas at River's Ed

No business quite exemplifies the agricultural yet quirky nature of the Cumberland area like Alpacas at River's Edge Farm. River's Edge is a working farm that is situated on 35 acres of land up in the mountains just a little ways out of town. It also serves as a retreat facility for groups or individuals who get to enjoy the tranquility of nature and the fuzzy love of one of the farm's well socialized alpacas. The farm even offers educational programs for children and youth who want to learn more about the farming lifestyle or just cannot get enough alpaca action.
