Cottage Grove Parks
Cottage Grove is home to various parks that provide you with a place to spend some outdoor time with the family. Arbor Meadows Park features a beautiful, peaceful setting that spans over eight acres. Baseball fields, soccer fields, and ball courts are all located within this park. Picnic areas and playground equipment can also be found to have a bite and let the kids blow off some steam. Old Cottage Grove Community Park sits on five acres and is home to ball fields, an ice skating rink, and picnic tables. You can also rent a community building in this park for special events.
Experience the culture and community of Cottage Grove by attending the annual Strawberry Fest takes place over four days during the month of June. A large parade kicks off the event where you can view floats made by local residents and businesses. Booths are set up throughout the festival where free gifts and other items are offered. Carnival rides, local bands, and great food can also be enjoyed. A grand firework display signals the end of the festival and will delight the little ones. With so much to see and do, you can attend for a day or keep coming back for more fun.
Cottage Grove has deep historical roots that are reflected in some of the beautiful homes in the area. The Historical Cedarhurst Mansion is listed on the Nation Register of Historic Places and once belonged to a prominent Minnesota attorney. The home has been preserved and now serves as an elegant venue for weddings and other special occasions. The John P. Furber House is an Italian Villa dating back to the mid-1850s. The owner of the home was one of the town’s founding fathers and it is believed to be one of the oldest in the areas.
