Corpus Christi, Texas, the \Sparkling City by the Sea,\ is home to the 5th largest port in the country–the largest city along the Texas coastline. This sheltered bay got its name all the way back in 1519, when Spanish explorer Alonzo Alvarez discovered it on the Catholic Feast Day of Corpus Christi. Today, it's a thriving metropolis with easy access to the sheltered waters of Corpus Christi Bay.
Most people in Corpus Christi rely on their own cars to take them around this large metropolis. Though cars are the most popular form of transportation, and the quickest way to get around the city, the CCRTA also has a large fleet of busses. The busses travel over an area of 830 square miles, taking passengers all the way from downtown to the rural towns surrounding the city.
