Civil War and the Sou
Corinth played an important role in the shaping of history. The train crossing in Corinth was the site of the Siege of Corinth and the Second Battle of Corinth. In both battles, Union soldiers obtained control of the crossroads. Such areas were important to the transport of goods for troops and stifling supply routes for enemy troops. Today, Corinth offers a glimpse into history due to the maintained landmarks and structures in the area including the Midtown Corinth Historic District. Reminded of not only the war, but simply of times past, visitors travel through these parts for a feel of what life once was like.
Arts and Events
For entertainment, residents and visitors alike can do more than visit the historical locations. Festivals find home in Corinth annually celebrating the arts, history, and just having a good time. The Artist Guild and the Corinth Theatre-Arts Playhouse engage in shows proper for people of all ages. Car cruise-ins, chili cook-offs, and the sports tournaments bring the whole town out for fun and social time. Of course, folks can simply hit the parks for a fun time with the family, hikes, bike riding, and more. Corinth is the place where the fun is a little more laid back, but the smiles have never been bigger.
