For three days each August, Corbin comes alive at its annual NIBROC festival. If you did not catch that, NIBROC is Corbin spelled backwards and this festival serves as a way to celebrate the town and its community. Schools in Corbin are closed on Thursday and Friday to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to attend this fun event and take part in its family-friendly activities. Some of the festival's most traditional events include the Miss Nibroc Scholarship Pageant, carnival rides, a car and motorcycle show, craft booths, a 2K run/walk, and lots of delicious local food.

Harland Sander Cafe a

In 1940, Colonel Harland Sanders opened a cafe in North Corbin. Just a few years later, he developed a recipe for fried chicken that would soon become an important part of American history. By 1956, the chicken became so popular that Sanders decided to sell his cafe and began selling franchises for Kentucky Fried Chicken. The Harland Sanders Cafe was renovated and reopened in 1990 as a museum. Here, visitors can learn about the interesting history behind America's favorite fried chicken. You can even get a look at the kitchen where Sanders first developed the KFC secret recipe.

Cumberland Falls Stat

Within the Daniel Boone Forest on the west side of town lays the Cumberland Fall State Resort Park. This beautiful state park encompasses over 1,500 acres of land and is named after its most impressive feature, the 68-foot high Cumberland Falls. There are tons of things that visitors can do and discover in Cumberland as well. The park offers over 50 campsites, 20 miles of hiking trails, and horseback riding. You can also go fishing or white water rafting in the Cumberland River. Then, you can end day with a nice meal in the beautiful Riverview Restaurant.
