"Great is the Truth"

The University of Miami (UM)’s main campus is in Coral Gables, a situation that is mutually beneficial and admired. Medicine, law, oceanography and engineering programs are just a few areas of study UM offers. Students play as hard as they work here, which says a lot considering that the university is heavily focused on research as well as traditional classroom education. Fraternities and sororities give students opportunities to expand their university experiences, and the media-minded can get involved in the student newspaper or radio station. Athletes can take a shot at joining the Hurricanes’ sports teams, which have won several national championships.

Life and Laughter on

Everyone needs an escape sometimes; a way to forget the hectic pace of life and slow down to enjoy a break. Theater lovers will find such a respite at the Actors Playhouse at the Miracle Theatre. One of the city’s not-so-hidden gems, this historic playhouse offers top-notch performances, from casting to production. For a different sort of visual feast, pay a visit to Lowe Art Museum. Located on the University of Miami campus, it is small in size, but enormous in the quality of its exhibits. From the beauty of glass art to revered religious works, the exhibitions are as diverse as they are fascinating.

Fragrant Blooms and C

Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden is off the beaten path for outdoor exploration. However, you will be glad you made the effort one you step foot into this lush flowering garden. This botanic tropical garden is home to the largest collection of palm trees in the United States. Hundreds of species are nestled along winding paths and showcased in horticultural displays. If you never thought a municipal pool could look like a paradise island, the Venetian Pool will change your mind in a splash. Surrounded by moss-covered stone and palm trees waving in the warm breeze, the pool is a public swimming oasis.
