Coppell locals who want to get out on the water need look no further than Grapevine Lake, a beautiful lake surrounded by parkland just northwest of town. Grapevine Lake is actually a manmade lake, built by the Army Corps of Engineers in 1952. Luckily, the lake's constructed nature does not stop it from offering everything a natural lake has to offer. Lake-goers enjoy a wide variety of activities on the lake, including boating, fishing, swimming, and camping in one of the camping spots at Murrell Park. Coppell locals even volunteer to help keep the parks around the lake clean and inviting.
Coppell is known for its outstanding education system. This is comprised of the Coppell Independent School District, the Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD, and the Lewisville ISD. Together, these three districts provide the families of Coppell with a set of schools that are all exemplary as rated by the Texas Education Agency. The many schools of Coppell offer a wide array of educational offerings, including great athletics departments, music teaching, and specialized services like music therapy to be sure that all children are helped along in their education. Attendance records indicate how great Coppell's schools are: Students rarely if ever skip out on such a good education.
