Coconut Creek is such a great place for kids. The city's own community bus, which operates Monday through Saturday from 6:30 am to 6 pm, provides free intercity transportation to Coconut Creek residents. Its two routes--the "N" route and the "S" route--connect with the other bus services in the area. Greater in scope, Broward County Transit also serves Coconut Creek and enables connection to bus services in the neighboring counties of Palm Beach and Miami-Dade. Between the city center and the area to the south, also known as Coconut Creek Park, the latter is a better choice for families. And, while it's mixed in terms of demographics, there are quite a few other families with young children living here. It also borders Fern Forest Nature Center, a 247-acre urban wilderness area featuring trails, boardwalks, exhibit halls, and picnic areas.
