Each year locals gather for a weekend of fun, fireworks, and entertainment at the annual Brandywine Health Foundation Strawberry Festival. The event takes place at the end of May and draws quite the crowd, while offering free admission and plenty of family fun activities all weekend long. The festival hosts carnival rides, a food fair, crafts, vendors, contests, and local entertainment. The festival started out as a way to help the nurses of Brandywine Hospital raise money for scholarships, but proceeds are now given to local non-profit agencies to help promote their causes.
Enjoy the Local Parks
Coatesville plays home to several great parks for its community to enjoy. Depending on what outdoor activities you love, there is a park option that will be just right for you. Chester Ash Memorial Park offers a community pool, lighted courts for basketball and tennis, a roller hockey rink, and a playground for the your kids to enjoy. Friendship Garden Park is smaller, but it offers walkways, pretty scenery, and a playground for hours of fun. Each park provides ample space for picnicking and allows residents to reserve parts of the parks for barbeques, parties, and other fun celebrations.
Entertainment comes in all forms in the city of Coatesville, but many locals find the most entertainment in the various seasonal activities that take place throughout the year. Festivities start with the Fourth of July, but the fun does not end there. Fall sees the costume-and-spook-filled Halloween Parade and December hosts the many activities during the Christmas season. You can take part in the annual Christmas parade, the 5k run or walk, and the tree lighting ceremony that caps off each year. Many different events take place in between, making Coatesville and ideal place for seasonal fun.
