Clifton Park

Clifton Park was named way back in the early 18th century by someone who happened to have one of the coolest names ever: Nanning Harmansen. Aren’t you glad you know?

Having dwelled on that minor bit of amusing trivia, let us now point you to some more practical bits of information on this upstate New York. Clifton Park, which isn’t far from Albany, is made up of a number of "areas," "neighborhoods," and "communities." These include Country Knolls, Round Lake, and Rexford, among others. Rexford is cozily buttressed by the Mohawk River, and take note because this may be the only time in a long while that you'll see the words "cozily" and "Mohawk" used so closely together. All together, these neighborhoods are home to 36,469 inhabitants.

Clifton Park Apartment Prices

This town's come a long way since its early days. The unfortunate citizens of ye olde Clifton Park were forced to go without the option of securing a cool apartment. Luckily you can find yourself a sweet pad. Wondering how much said pad is going to put you back each month? Just check out the rent chart right here on this page and find out. Clifton Park Intel

Alert! Alert! There are 3 missing pets in the Clifton Park community! "Batman," "Trax," and "Ebbie," need you to help find them. Luckily, Jane has been returned to her owner, so that's some good news.

How do we know all this you ask? Through Clifton Park's website, which is stuffed with more useful info, curious tidbits, and real-time alerts than we've ever seen from a city's web presence. Only NASA is more info-savvy than these folks. There's a lot to chew on in Clifton Park (especially if you're a dog), so get reading and go exploring!

Clifton Park's stats tell a story of a city on the up and up. (It’s even in upstate New York!) The city's median income is over $80,000 a year, and its age distribution is fairly evenly spread. This city has a soft spot for science and environmental education, producing low budget but undeniably adorable videos like this one. Did you know that only 1% of tadpoles grow up to become frogs? Neither did we.

Oh, and one more thing. Though residents of Clifton Park's Saratoga County may protest that their area is in any way, shape, or form anything like Ohio, we disagree.

Skate on By

If you're a skater, at least of the skateboard variety, you'll be happy to know that Clifton Park accommodates. How do we know this? Yet another cool video. The narrator could stand to raise his voice and enunciate, but then again he sounds like a kid, so we'll cut him some slack. For now.

Clifton Park on the Fun Front

Aside from the aforementioned skate park, which is really more "geared" toward the teen scene, there are plenty of other things to do in Clifton Park. In fact, there’s so much going on that you'll spend at least half your time choosing rather than doing if you're not careful. We think they call this the Netflix Effect. We're not sure.

Whether it's the Empire State AeroSciences Museum, the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame, or the Clifton Park Community Chorus, there's only one person to blame if you can't find a way to pass the time. Okay, unless you're being held under duress somewhere. In that case you can blame your captors.

Arts and Entertainment

If you enjoy live theater, there’s the Not So Common Players, Clifton Park's community theatre troop. We don't know them personally but they seem like a fun bunch. They produce all sorts of fun shows, such as Zombie Prom. Set in the 50s, this play involved some pretty gnarly high school kids. This seems to be a common meme, zombies and proms, but then again you're not here for our analysis of social trends involving the undead and rites of passage. At any rate, Clifton Park is a great city to call home. We’re sure you’ll love it, but don’t take our word for it, get out there and start exploring the city yourself!
