Downtown Cleveland

Cleveland's historic downtown is a great place to go shopping and dine out year round. But in addition to these standard activities, this part of town is also a prime location for enjoying special events and seasonal festivals. One of the most popular events that takes place here is the annual Halloween block party celebration. Though it has evolved to take the form of a safe trick-or-treating event for kids, this celebration has been a tradition in Cleveland for years. The Halloween spirit is particularly important to some Cleveland residents, including those who carry on the legend of "Tall Betsy", the "Official Goblin" of the area.

Colleges and Universi

Both private and public institutions of higher learning can be found in Cleveland, meaning residents have a good range of options if they want to stay put for college or take some classes to advance their careers. The public Cleveland State Community College offers standard two-year community college programs, but students here may also be able to take more advanced classes thanks to the school's partnerships with other institutions. Lee University is one of the largest private universities in Tennessee. This school offers an award-winning, faith-based liberal arts educational program for about 5,000 students each year.
