The Back story on Clemmons

The village of Clemmons employs a philosophy of "listening" when dealing with its citizens. How do we know this? We listened when they told us about the results of a recent survey of their residents' quality of life. We suppose it's a rather obvious point to make at the outset of a survey results revelation, that you "listen," but with that snide tangent aside, let's get into the meat of the results: The less educated and less wealthy are less enthusiastic about raising taxes. 2. The most sought after long term public works projects involve an increase in pedestrian friendly facilities. 3. The city needs to improve its communication with its citizens. So maybe that wasn't the meat of the results. More like a thin layer of the fat. But the meat is like 25 pages long, so cut us some slack. Do know, however, that Clemmons is listening and is doing what it can to make this the best town around. Today, the residents of Clemmons enjoy a low unemployment rate, which is more important than ever in, and we can all assume that the village elders, or the Village Council, as they prefer to be called, had something to do with Clemmons' success on this front.

Horse-Drawn Pride

If you asked the people of Clemmons what they were proudest of, they might tell you that it's "Hattie Butner", an old timey horse drawn coach that was owned by the great grandson of the man who founded the town. Okay, maybe it's not the thing the townspeople are most proud of, but the carriage does sit on display at the Village Hall: a well varnished homage to Clemmons' quaint, historical legacy.

Finding Yourself Finding Fun Times

Tanglewood Park. It's beloved by residents and visitors alike—and for good reason. With a pool, horse stables, and a delightful little lake for fishing and paddle boating (and possibly fishing while paddle boating, though that may scare the fish), this place is quite the attraction. Clemmons' annual Tangelwood Festival of Lights, which is held out on the water, is like the city's very own Main Street Electrical Parade. It's quite a sight, sore eyes or no. Add to this the further recreational revelries at the West Forsyth YMCA and you've got fun-filled day that's as well-rounded as a basketball. Are you an arts buff? (Because yes, arts fans can be "buff" too.) Then take a trip to the University of North Carolina's Stevens Center for the Performing Arts.  You'll want to check the show schedule frequently so that you don't miss out on any of the excitement! When you move to Clemmons, you'll be up and out (but never down and out) every day!
