Parks and Trails
Even when there is not a festival or a fair going on, Chico still has plenty of opportunities to get outside and enjoy the beautiful, mild weather. With more than 3,500 acres to explore, Bidwell Park is one of the country's largest municipal parks. Hike, horseback ride, or mountain bike on one of the many beautiful park trails. Looking for somewhere to play disc golf? You're in luck. Bidwell Park has several places to play, including the popular Peregrine Point. Swimmers and waders love the Sycamore Pool at Bidwell. The pool is made of concrete and was built around Big Chico Creek.

For those people looking to learn something new while having a great time or needing to spend a day indoors to escape from the rare California rainstorms, there is plenty of fun to be had out of the Chico sun as well. This city is home to a number of museums, including the Chico Air Museum, the National Yo-Yo Museum, the California State University's Gateway Science Museum, and the Chico Museum. California State University at Chico has many other fun opportunities that residents can take advantage of, such as live performances, lectures, and sporting events.
