The Publick Playhouse
The folks of Cheverly are fortunate to have a venue like the Publick Playhouse in their community. The space began as a one screen movie house built in 1947, which at the time was top of the line and wholly luxurious. The theater began to fall into decline in the late 1960s, but it was purchased by and refurbished by a local non-profit and reopened in 1977 as a live theater and performing arts space which has been flourishing ever since. The theater company puts on numerous productions every season, some serious plays aimed at adults as well as programming for children such as puppet shows.
The Kenilworth Aquati
The Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens and Park is a national park located just outside of Cheverly. It is a place where locals like to go and take a quiet stroll along one of the ponds or spend an afternoon of quality time looking for some of the park's wildlife like blue herons or bull frogs. The park offers a network of trails which easily make the hiker forget about the large urban cities and towns that are so nearby. This facility also offers pond tours guided by a ranger which are always fun and educational. The park is open year round, and each of the four seasons has something unique and beautiful to add to the experience.
