One of the benefits of living outside of a big city is that there is plenty of space to use for outdoor pursuits, including golf. Castro Valley is no exception and is home to the beautifully wooded and landscaped Willow Park Golf Course. This public 18-hole course features calming and relaxing natural scenery, including the San Leandro Creek, which runs throughout the course and comes into play for some of the course's holes. The course is designed to offer enjoyable play to golfers of all levels and reasonable rate prices for both a day of play and cart rental.
The Neighborhood Chur
Though many of Castro Valley's historic landmarks, including a billboard signifying the area's connection to the chicken ranching industry, are now gone, one major landmark in the city are the three large, minimalistic, white crosses marking the property of the Neighborhood Church of Castro Valley. This conservative religious organization features a huge campus, and the sleek, modern crosses help signify the church's prosperity and state-of-the-art facilities. This church performs regular services like baptisms, weddings, memorial services, and funerals in addition to hosting an on-campus bookstore where patrons can purchase religious books and other church-related items.
