About Carlsbad, CA
Carlsbad is an oceanside town located in the northern portion of California's San Diego County. An upscale community of over 100,000 residents, the city has grown in recent years and is well known for its scenic beaches. The name Carlsbad comes from the Czech town of Karlsbad due to the two cities sharing a similar spa-quality water source. With San Diego and Los Angeles both a short distance away, many residents commute to jobs and sights in those big cities.

Stunning Beachfronts

Aside from phenomenal beaches, Carlsbad is also home to the only Lego Theme Park located in the United States. The Carlsbad Mineral Spa has magnificent baths, while Carlsbad Village is a haven for shopping, nightlife, and a weekly farmer's market. Olde Carlsbad is the historic area of town, as well as one of the most diverse areas in the city. The sports enthusiast will find Carlsbad to be sheer heaven. Between beaches, trails for biking and running, and such world class golf clubs and resorts, as La Costa, there will never be a lack of athletic venues.

Wondrous Restaurants

While many residents of Carlsbad go to San Diego for the odd dinner here and there, there are plenty of high-quality dining options in town. From Captain Keno's for breakfast and Pelley's Cafe and Fish Market for lunch or dinner, you will find something to suit all tastes at the locally owned restaurants and shops. West Steak and Viglucci's are both upscale places where the ambiance equals the superb menus for gastronomic delights. Bellefluer, KoKo Beach, or even the casual fare at Ruby's Diner are great places to enjoy your first meals in town.

Enjoy Your Nights Out

At night, there are plenty of places to have a cold one and some fun, with games, good eats, and dancing along the way. Most folks in town rave about Coyote Bar, where it is lively on weekends and week nights alike. Stop in with some friends and unwind after a hard work day or work week. The Ocean House has dining and dancing while Altitude is strictly music with a rockin' DJ. There are plenty of smaller pubs similar to Coyotes Bar, and those who enjoy the nightlife are sure to find one that suits their interests and nightlife needs.
