Carlsbad, California

Carlsbad is a beach town in the northern portion of San Diego County. When you move into your Carlsbad apartment, know you'll be joining the other 95,000 residents of one of the most upscale, scenic and thriving cities anywhere in California. The name Carlsbad comes from the Czech town of Karlsbad because the two cities share a similar spa quality water source. As with most California cities, you'll want to think about owning a car. With San Diego and Los Angeles both a short distance away, you'll want to be mobile.

Beaches That Can't Be Beat

Aside from phenomenal beaches, Carlsbad is also home to the Lego Theme Park, the only one in the U.S. The Carlsbad Mineral Spa has magnificent baths, while Carlsbad Village is a haven for shopping, nightlife and a weekly farmer's market. Olde Carlsbad is the historic area as well as being one of the most diverse areas in the city. The sports enthusiast will find Carlsbad sheer heaven. Between the beaches, the trails for biking and running, and such world class golf clubs and resorts, like La Costa, there will never be a lack of sports venues. Whether your Carlsbad apartment is near the beach or in the hills, the lifestyle here is just fantastic.

Meet Captain Keno

While you may want to go to San Diego for the odd dinner here and there, there's no reason to leave town. From Captain Keno's for breakfast, and Pelley's Cafe and Fish Market, you'll find the locally owned places are terrific. West Steak and Viglucci's are both more upscale places where the ambiance equals the superb menus. There will certainly be good places near your Carlsbad apartment but Bellefluer, KoKo Beach, or even Ruby's Diner are great places to start your first meals in town.

Coyotes After Dark

At night, there are plenty of places to have a cold one and some fun. Most folks in town really like Coyote Bar, where it is lively no matter what night of the week it is. The Ocean House has dining AND dancing while Altitude is strictly music with a good d.j.Smaller pubs and bars are abundant and there's bound to be a good one close to home!
