Although Canonsburg may not be enormous, there is a surprisingly lively nightlife to be found here. Most of the best bars are sports bars, but many feature events focusing on lively and entertaining music. At Jay's Sports Bar & Restaurant, the drinks flow smoothly and the classic American fare goes down easy. Nearby Guntown Beer serves up microbrewed, imported, and specialty beers. You can try some right on the premises or buy some to have at home. If you prefer to have a beer or glass of wine on a patio during the warmer months, visit Jackson's Restaurant-Rotisserie-Bar.
Food for Thought
There are a number of real dining gems in Canonsburg. While not all of these are full restaurants, they are all worth visiting. The Sarris Ice Cream shop retains its 1950s charm and is lined with classic pieces of Americana. This is a great place to grab a sundae on a hot day or simply meet up with friends. For a sit-down meal with plenty of authentic Mexican spice, try out Los Chiludos. Located in the Southpointe Business Park, the food is rated highly for its ability to rival "Grandma's best cooking". Chiludos also offers gluten-free meals if you have food sensitivities.
The Pennsylvania Trolley Museum is close enough to Canonsburg that it should be visited at least once. This location is a special delight to children who love trains, trolleys, and transportation modes. Although the name suggests that only trolleys are housed in the museum, trains ranging from the present to as early as the 1940s can also be found there. Many machines have been preserved with their original fittings. Events are also commonly held at this venue, as the museum hosts several model train conventions throughout the year. Whether you are young or simply young at heart, visiting the museum is time well spent.
