Hop Aboard

Enjoy the breathtaking scenery of Colorado by hopping aboard the Royal George Route Railroad. A ride on this train will show the beauty that this portion of the state has to offer. By covering 12 miles of track, the ride allows you to view a variety of wildlife, lush trees, and other natural elements. You can choose from coach, parlor, or first class, which provides an open air design so that your view is enhanced. While aboard the train, you can also enjoy a meal in the fine dining facility to make your trip complete.

Prison History

When you are looking for something unique to do, visit the Museum of Colorado Prisons. The historical cell house that is now the museum was once home to the Women’s Correctional Facility. With guided tours, you can explore the museum's 32 cells that are all filled with exhibits linked to the Colorado prison system. A hangman’s noose that was used in the state’s last hanging execution and the last gas chamber are also on display. A variety of handmade weapons and inmate crafts can also be viewed, giving you a true feel of what living in this facility was once like.
