Hop Aboard

Prison History

When you are looking for something unique to do, visit the Museum of Colorado Prisons. The historical cell house that is now the museum was once home to the Women’s Correctional Facility. With guided tours, you can explore the museum's 32 cells that are all filled with exhibits linked to the Colorado prison system. A hangman’s noose that was used in the state’s last hanging execution and the last gas chamber are also on display. A variety of handmade weapons and inmate crafts can also be viewed, giving you a true feel of what living in this facility was once like.
