I've got dogs. What are the best places in Candler for being outdoors with pets?
Although neighboring towns like Asheville have a few, Candler isn't home to any off-leash dog parks. However, Candler is located on the edge of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, which is certainly the best place for being outdoors with your dogs near Candler. With over 800 miles of maintained trails ranging from short leg-stretchers to strenuous treks, hiking options abound. For a change of scenery, Pisgah National Forest is located to the northeast of Candler.

The Great Smoky Mountains National Park to the west straddles the ridgeline of the Great Smoky Mountains, which are part of the Blue Ridge Mountains, and the larger Appalachian Mountain chain. This area features over 800 miles of trails for hiking. Other activities include biking, camping, fishing, horseback riding, picnicking, and wildlife viewing.
