The nearby Chicago Science and Industry Museum is a treat for everyone in the family and offers an excellent overview of how Calumet City developed over the years. Within Calumet City itself, the Calumet City Historical Society offers a museum that provides many events year-round. You will especially love the Miniature Train Show that takes place each year in December, as well as the Heritage Day celebrations in September.
