This area is also coastal, a factor that may contribute to its tranquil nature. Another Burien neighborhood that shares many characteristics with Seahurst / Inglesea, including its low noise levels, is Mount View / Seola, which is located directly to the north.

Located just south of Seattle, Burien's climate is very similar to that of the aptly nicknamed "Emerald City." It doesn't snow or get tremendously cold, but it rains a lot from fall through spring. Summers, however, can be warm and sunny, although they tend to be mild, with temperatures in the 60s; the average high in August is 76 degrees Fahrenheit. Winter temperatures tend to be in the 40s with an average low of 36 degrees Fahrenheit. On average Burien receives 37 inches of precipitation annually.
