    With a population of over 30,000, Brownstown Township is a charter township of Wayne County, Michigan. As home to two different wildlife areas, Pointe Mouillee State Game Area and Lake Erie Metropark, Brownstown Township is a great place for those who enjoy nature. For water lovers, Brownstown Township is also very close to Lake Erie, which provides opportunities for swimming, boating, and fishing. Located just 33 miles southeast of Ann Arbor and 22 miles southwest of Detroit, Brownstown Township is ideal for those that work in either city but prefer the quieter, small town community feel of Brownstown Township.

    Although Brownstown Township isn't home to any museums, there are many nearby. Rockwood, located 15 minutes southeast of Brownstown Township, is home to the Marshlands Museum and Nature Center, and Grosse Ile, located 20 minutes east of Brownstown Township, is home to the Grosse Il Historical Museum. Another slew of museums, including the Henry Ford Academy, the Automotive Hall of Fame, and Arab American National Museum, is located 30 minutes north of Brownstown Township in Dearborn. Detroit is also home to various museums, most notably the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit, which includes more than 100 galleries, a 1,150-seat auditorium, a 380-seat lecture/recital hall, an art reference library, and a state-of-the-art conservation services laboratory. Detroit is also home to the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History, the Detroit Institute of Arts Museum, and Hitsville U.S.A., Motown Records' first headquarters.
