America's Oldest Them

Another unique piece of iconic Americana still stands today in the heart of Bristol. Lake Compounce is the oldest continuously operating amusement park in the United States. Believe it or not, they have been in business since 1846, and have not stopped providing joy and entertainment to visitors in more than 150 years. The amusement park itself is full of rides, booths, places to eat, and a variety of games to play. You can also check out the beach and waterpark free of charge. Bring your sweetie, or load up the car with the kids and take a day off work.

Bristol Mum Festival

Everyone has been there before. It is a school dance, your trembling hand reaches out to put on your dates mum, and that becomes a memory frozen in time. In Bristol, which is the primary producer of chrysanthemums, they take that nostalgia very seriously. So much so that they even have a festival and parade to celebrate the joy and happiness associated with these beautiful fragrant flowers. For six days in the fall, the town opens its doors to residents and tourists alike to share in the celebrations, and enjoy all the positive things that are associated with this beautiful city.
