Shopping at Prairie C

When you live in the suburbs, sometimes your life can feel like it revolves around retail big box stores. There is a price to pay for convenience, unfortunately, and we are all too comfortable to avoid it. Mega shopping centers are popping up in suburbs everywhere, and Brighton is no different. The recent Prairie Center development, which is a pedestrian friendly retail village, has all of the big names for your weekend trips to the store. Kohl’s, Dicks, and Super Target are all at your disposal here, along with Home Depot, Lowe's Home Improvement Center, and PetSmart, seven days a week.

Barr Lake State Park

Colorado is so full of natural beauty. Sometimes, it seems this state is overflowing with wildlife and scenic vistas. The abundance of rugged land and efforts to preserve and sustain these wilderness fronts allows them to create things like Barr Lake State Park. This beautiful lakefront park has more than 12 miles of trails and an 8.8-mile loop around the lake itself for joggers and bikers. You can also get some fishing and boating in on the northern tip of the lake. If you are an avid bird watcher, you can even spot bald eagles nesting here.
