Little Willie's BBQ

You cannot mention the South without talking about barbecue, and Brandon is no slouch. Willie’s has been cooking up some of the most delicious mouth-watering grub around since most people can remember. Their tongue in cheek slogan of, “It’s Willie, Willie good” may seem a little kitschy, but they are not messing around when it comes to meat. Grab a smoked burger with some French fries, talk your favorite cuts with the butcher, and have him wrap them up for dinner when you are done, or have a taste of some local slathered ribs. You cannot go wrong here.

Shiloh Splash Park

Looking for a place to cool down in the hot summer heat that is inevitable in deep Mississippi? Well, look no further than Shiloh Splash Park. Located inside the city green space at the heart of town, this water park packs it in with a 50-gallon dump bucket, a mushroom waterfall, spray rings, ground geysers, palm trees, water cannons, and slides galore. It is the perfect place to take the little ones for a day of fun in the sun. Afterwards, you can bust out a picnic at the pavilion next door, and watch the sunset over this quaint little town.

Modern Day time Capsu

One of the great things about Brandon is the fact that they take their history very seriously here. There are a number of buildings located on the National Register of Historic Places, such as the Hebron Academy, Cocke-Martin-Jackson House, and Rankin County Courthouse. All are open to the public and worth a look if you appreciate architecture and history. There is also a Historic Preservation Commission, which helps to retain the soul and character of these structures throughout town. It serves as a good reminder of where these buildings have been and where they are going.
