Discover Your Braintree Apartment

Befitting its namesake, Braintree is a city with roots going back to the earliest days of North American settlement. Part of the greater Boston area, a mecca of sorts for the global, educated set, Braintree can be said to live up to its name in more ways than one. This is an upscale suburban town, connected to Boston, Providence, and New York City via the northeast's convenient and long established (but sometimes scarily creaky) rail lines. What we on the west coast consider a novelty - taking the train - is as common to a Braintree resident as a finger numbing January day, and a nice hot bowl of Boston Clam Chowder to go with it.

Braintree Rental Trends In Pricing

Braintree's got a sweet spot, alright. A sweet spot to call home, whether it's a one bedroom apartment that allows pets (or even encourages them - hey, it happens) or a two bedroom that forbids them. Either OR something else entirely can be secured in this Ivy League city.

Check out our rental and census data tables as well as our other fact sheets for more info about affordability and options for your future new digs. Make like a tree and leave...your old place behind by clicking on the rentals listed below.

Braintree For Dummies

This city has a loooong history of letting loose the livelihoods of presidents, inventors, and other elites upon the world. From the two Johns - Hancock and Adams - to Thomas Watson, co-inventor of the telephone (yes, it was a joint endeavor, apparently), Braintree can most definitely grow a mean gene or two. Having grown from a small community of religious refugees back in the 17th century to a modern epicenter of academic and business activity orbiting Boston, Braintree touts many a notable citizen. If Washington D.C. is ""Hollywood for ugly people,"" Braintree can be considered a kind of ""Hollywood for smart people."" Such people include a beauty pageant winner and...wait, ok, maybe that idiom will have to be revoked. Then again, the ""Hollywood"" part may stick, because the movies Paul Blart: Mall Cop and The Departed have both been filmed here.

Living In A (Brain)tree

The median income here is high, but on the other hand so is the cost of living in Massachusetts. Still, even after adjusting for that fact, Braintree is home to neither small pay nor small minds. Indeed, quite the opposite. Major employers in Braintree proper - leaving out the titans of industry in Boston - include Greater Media, Haemonetics, and TopSource LLC. Though overwhelmingly residential, small businesses littered (and speaking of litter, please don't - New Englanders are alot like Californians in their zero tolerance for this minor crime) throughout town in leafy shopping districts make up the remainder of business activity in the city.

The neighborhoods in Braintree include, quite sensibly, North Braintree, South Braintree, and East Braintree. Though one should not neglect to include the black sheep in the bunch, Braintree Highlands, home of the Braintree Town Forest.

And here's a factoid to consider: For every 100 females, there are only 89 males. This tilts the playing field in favor of the men, but we'd like to stress that it's still no excuse to be without an approach strategy, guys.

Out And About In Braintree

From the obvious tourist hot spots like the birthplace of John Adams, dubbed the Abigail Adams Cairn (what's a Cairn?), and the retirement home of the aforementioned phone dude, Braintree abounds with golf courses, shopping, and a lots of great food. We'd like to recommend Sintra for some lip smackin' Portuguese cuisine. Yelpers swear by it. ""Portuguese?"" you might be asking. Well, let us ask you a question in return: You can get New England Clam Chowder anywhere 'round these parts, so why not take the road less traveled?

And though we don't recommend the following after just having stuffed your belly with Caldeirada, make sure to visit East Coast Amusement for that particular brand of thrill and spill you can only get from an amusement park.
