Spend the day at the Northland Arboretum to explore the natural beauty of the area. The 583-acre arboretum and nature reserve was founded in 1972 and is now home to a Red Pine plantation. Over 12 miles of trails for hiking and cross-country skiing are located in the area, some of which are lit up for night skiing. A tree trail, a pond with bridge, and youth gardens can also be enjoyed so there is something for everyone. A visit to the Arboretum will allow you an up close view at rattlesnakes, frogs, and a variety of vegetation.
Take in a race at the Brainerd International Raceway. The raceway is home to a 3.1-mile road course, a drag strip, and a kart track. Different popular events take place at the raceway, including the National Hot Rod Association Nationals and the Coca-Cola Muscle Car Shootout. With the ability to seat over 20,000, the raceway can accommodate both individuals and groups. Concession stands, a bar, and a restaurant can be found inside the venue so you have everything you need to enjoy your visit. Onsite lodging is also featured, along with camping facilities.
