About Bolingbrook, IL
Bolingbrook started out its early life as a non-indigenous settlement outside of Chicago in 1831 and, surprisingly, remained that way for more than 130 years. It took a long time to become incorporated into the metro area, but once it was, there was a huge housing boom and the city took off. Since then, it has become a great place to raise a family with stellar school systems, quaint downtown shopping areas, and great restaurants and cafes dotting the landscape.

Bolingbrook Park Dist

Created in 1970 and expanded ever since, the Bolingbrook Park District is a huge area of woodlands, parks, community centers, aquatic centers, and recreation facilities. It provides the local residents with access to top-notch fitness centers as well as having the peace and quiet that comes with city parks. They have been recognized statewide as having some of the nicest facilities in the area, and recently were one of four finalists for the National Gold Medal Award for Excellence in Park Management. Also part of the park district is Pelican Harbor Aquatic Park, Lifestyles Fitness Center, and Boughton Ridge Golf Course.
