Bettendorf locals are served educationally from infancy into adulthood with schools ranging from preschool to community college right in town. Both Bettendorf and Pleasant Valley Community School Districts are in the top of their class when it comes to providing an excellent education. Each district maintains above-average marks in many academic areas. They also provide athletic and other extracurricular programs for students. Adults can benefit from Scott Community College, which has been offering a variety of degrees and certificates since 1966. Mississippi River

The mighty Mississippi River runs right by Bettendorf, helping to link the town to the history of the country as well as some of its finest stories. The Mississippi River is one of North America's largest drainages, connecting to more than 30 states and parts of Canada. The only rivers longer are the Nile River, Amazon River, and Yangtze River. At various points, it has carried traders, battleships, pleasure boats, Huck Finn, and then some. One way for Bettendorf locals to get to the river is via Pigeon Creek Park where you can relax on the shore or in one of the park's gazebos.
