Gann Museum

Benton is a city filled with a rich history, and nowhere is this more prevalent than the downtown district. Home to a number of buildings that have been around since the beginning of this little town, it is worth a stroll through these central blocks to get a feel for where they have come from and what this town has been through. The Gann Building, for instance, was built in 1893 as a doctor’s office for patients who could not afford proper medical care. Today, it still stands as a museum to those early days and houses a number of artifacts from that time period.

Longhills Golf Course

If you are in the mood to unwind and maybe call in sick for a little golf day, there is no better place to do it than Longhills Golf Club. It is the largest in the area, featuring more than 6,500 yards of green space, and the course holds a firm 69.9 rating for difficulty. Most people actually drive in from out of town because the course itself is so nice, but it is rarely overcrowded to the point you have to wait for the guy in front of you. They also have an Olympic-sized swimming pool for those hot summer days in Arkansas.
