When you want to take a trip back in time to another century, the Belvidere Autumn Pioneer Festival should be added to your calendar. The last weekend of September marks the annual event, which immerses you into the lifestyles of those who lived in the 1800s. For 32 years this festival has brought to life the ways of pioneers by involving locals in activities that helped people survive in the 19th century. Visitors can view wigwams, log cabins, a one-room schoolhouse, and take part in several crafts and activities during the weekend of events.
Belvidere Park Distri
The Belvidere Park District is not just about playgrounds and sports complexes and puts much focus on community. From the summer camps to the snowman building contests, and even teen snowboarding events, the district takes its responsibility to its residents seriously. Locals look forward to the annual events put on by the park district each year, including the Daddy Daughter Dance, but they also take part in the different clubs, fitness classes, and outdoor activities all set up by the district. You will never fall short of something to do when living in Belvidere.
