Awesome Autorama

Beloit is indeed a city of automobile aficionados, and they all come out to play at the fall Autorama festival. This yearly charity event hosted by the Beloit Lions Club is one of the largest car shows in the Midwest, and collectors come from all over the area to display their prized vehicles and hopefully win trophies for having the best cars in their show classes. Typically, more than 1,000 autos are brought in and range from classic and antique models to hot rods and modified modern racing cars. Attend Autorama to get a great feel for one of Beloit's most popular pastimes.

Dining at Dita's

When you arrive in Beloit, there is one surefire way to hop into the local culture and get to know your new neighbors: sit down for a meal at Dita's Family Restaurant. This cozy diner is where all the locals go to relax and enjoy hearty steak-and-egg breakfasts or sip a cold one at Sara's Pub, attached to the diner. Service is fast, and the owners' goal is to make all the patrons feel like one big family. The resulting convivial atmosphere is welcoming even to new residents. Take a stroll around Harper's Prairie Pond, across the street, while you digest your meal.

Sounds of the Symphon

It is entirely possible to enjoy an elegant night on the town in relaxed Beloit, and attending a performance of the Beloit Janesville Symphony is the perfect way to do so. The orchestral group puts on at least one event per month at different locations around the city, with musical pieces tailored to the season or venue. The symphony even hosts a silent film night, during which they narrate old movies with their musical stylings. An evening at the orchestra will give you an enlightening peek into the arts culture of Beloit and satisfy your taste for the urbane.
