One of the great things about Belmont is its close proximity to the largest city in North Carolina: Charlotte. Just like any major city, the cost of living in Charlotte is high. For those working in Charlotte, this is a great alternative to paying those high living costs. It’s a fairly easy commute to Charlotte even for those taking public transportation. Apart from the whole cost factor (which yes, is a biggie), if you’d like to come home to a smaller, more peaceful environment after working in the big city, Belmont is a great place for it.
Big City Access
Charlotte is not just for commuters. Living this close to such a big city means that you can take advantage of all that it has to offer without paying those high price tags for an apartment. For those yearning for a shot of culture, catch the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra, the Opera Carolina, or a musical at the North Carolina Blumenthal Performing Arts Center. If you’re looking for some art to stare at, visit the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art, the McColl Center for Visual Art, or the Mint Museum of Art. NASCAR fans can check out the NASCAR Hall of Fame. The options for dining out and partying in the Charlotte nightlife are endless, and with your short commute, you can easily take advantage.
Fun Fun Fun
There are plenty of opportunities for fun in your new city. For one thing, Belmont celebrates throughout the year with festivals! And who doesn’t like a good festival? These folks have some pretty awesome festivals, like Garibaldi Fest (sounds awesome), Summer Celebration, Belmont Fall Festival, Halloween Bash (supposedly has moon bounces!), Concert in the park series, and Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt. Wow!
If festivals aren’t your thing, maybe you prefer a more quiet, contemplative way to distress? Find your apartment and you can visit what HGTV named one of the country’s “20 Great Gardens” and USA Today called one of the top ten places to “welcome fall with a flourish.” Sound enticing? Heck yeah. The Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden is a 450-acre garden that will satisfy even the blackest of thumbs. Walk through its gorgeous green meadows and reflect on your life as you gaze into a sparkling, trickling fountain. But not for too long. That would be weird. Or, get steamy with a loved one as you peruse the fertile orchids in the orchid conservatory. The Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden is certainly worth a visit.
The city is home to two colleges. Belmont Abbey College, a private liberal arts college, and Gaston Community College. Belmont Abbey College was founded in 1913 and is on the National Register of Historic Places. It is a private liberal arts college that is affiliated with the Roman Catholic Church.
Find your apartment in this great city and join almost 9,000 residents who enjoy its quiet neighborhoods, historic downtown area, sweet decorative brick sidewalks and planters, and old fashioned iron lampposts.
