Fresh, Wholesome Food
The Belmont Farmers’ Market is open every Sunday, packed with farm-grown, wholesome produce. This market is open year-round, rain or shine. It offers some of the best garden goods around, including greens, fruits, vegetables, nuts, and baked goods. It is a great place to get fresh items, meet new people, and enjoy some live music while you stroll around. Do not stop there, however. Every December, Harbor Village is home to a Land and Sea Farmers Market. This busy market offers fresh meat, cheese, granola, honey, herbs, and many other edibles. There are also arts and crafts vendors and free live music.
Reach for the Stars
The Hiller Aviation Museum in nearby San Carlos is home to more than just a vast collection of planes and related pieces. The Starlab Sky Show takes you into the heart of the Starlab planetarium. Here, you will see an astounding projection of the night sky, glittering with millions of twinkling stars. For relaxing daytime fun, the museum’s show Happy Birds features parrots and cockatoos performing amazing stunts such as riding a bird bike and roller skating. You can even get a cockatoo kiss and let a macaw sit on your arm if you feel adventurous with these fine feathered creatures.
When you want to experience some appetizing food, you will have options in every direction in Belmont. Everything from savory sauces on deli sandwiches to succulent surf and turf is available, and your biggest problem will be choosing just one place to go. For a quick, tasty lunch visit Lorenzo’s Sandwich Shop, which is a longtime local favorite. If you crave crepes, the Crepe Stop is the only place you need for sweet or savory choices. Sometimes, however, only a burger will do, and Godfather’s Burger Lounge makes some that you cannot refuse. Definitely try the garlic truffle fries, too.
