Western Pride

One of the main draws for young people moving to this city is Western Washington University. Western, as alumni and students call it, is a four-year institute that offers bachelor’s degrees and master’s degrees in anything from business and accounting to biology, education, and journalism. It is a very affordable place to get your degree, and the students here love living in the city. It was also ranked third in the western regional for public universities, and is known for having one of the best philosophy departments in the country, which is no small feat.

The Great Outdoors

Did we mention how beautiful this place is? It is located right on the northwestern corner of the Pacific Northwest, and has access to the ocean, beautiful San Juan islands that are great for camping, the Cascade Mountain range to the east, and killer snowboarding for those who are a little more adventurous in their activities. The summers are mild and the winters are perfect conditions for all your snow sport needs. There is also Whatcom Falls Park which is a huge park spreading across 241 acres and home to four waterfalls, miles of hiking and biking trails, and a creek gorge that has to be seen to believe.
