About Battle Creek, MI
Battle Creek is nicknamed the “Cereal City” for being home to headquarters of the Kellogg Company. Kellogg’s is not the only cereal company that has its home in Battle Creek, however. Post Foods began here, and houses one of the Ralston Foods cereal factories as well. The city has come under recent attention because Vince Gilligan, the creator of the hit television show “Breaking Bad,” announced that he is creating a crime drama set in the Cereal City, called “Battle Creek.”

The event includes hot air balloon launches and an amazing air show, which includes demonstrations by military personnel as well as expert civilian pilots. There is a Kids Day with special gifts and games. Also at the festival are carnival games and rides. Looking for a gift for the special person in your life? Head over to the arts and crafts section. Binder Park Zoo (Batt

Bring your children to a wildlife experience at the Binder Park Zoo in Battle Creek. Walk high boardwalks while getting exposure to a number of different wild animals. You can even feed a giraffe by hand. The zoo is only open from April through October, but they have seasonal events to help get you through your animal-free holidays. Check out the Holiday Nights event in December or the Zoo Boo in October. Your entire family is sure to have a good time here. When open, the zoo is open from the early morning to early evening.

Art Center of Battle

The Art Center of Battle Creek has been open since the late 1940s, and its goal is to get people from diverse age groups and backgrounds into art and culture. They believe that this leads to educational, fun, and enriching opportunities for everyone. Your family will enjoy the shows the center features, usually 10 to 12 per year. They range from art that is more traditional to its contemporary counterpart. Drop your children off at the Kidspace, an area that lets the children interact with the current exhibit. It is located off Emmett Street and open from Tuesdays through Saturdays.
