Museums in Banning
The city of Banning has two local museums for learning, relaxing, and recreation, namely Gilman Ranch Museum and the Native American Malki Museum. Gilman Historic Ranch is the iconic site for multiple different activities. It features a Victorian-style ranch house as well as the sheds that were used for olive curing and milk storage. On the grounds, there are also picnic tables, barbecue grills, and various hiking trails, where you can relax and explore at your own convenience. Do not miss the on-site museum, as there is a display of the different pioneer wagons folks used in the early days as they made their way to and settled in California.
Banning is located less than 4 miles away from Desert Hills Premium Outlets, which is in the neighboring town of Cabezon. It has a number of prime retail shops offering merchandise for a greatly reduced price and the selection ranges from high designer to everyday wear and accessories. The outlets have everything from BCBG, Zegna, and Kate Spade to middle range shops such as Banana Republic and Diesel, all the way down to PacSun and Charlotte Russe, the most affordable of all apparel and accessories stores. It's impossible to visit all of the stores in one weekend, a feature which makes for a great excuse to go shopping as much as your heart desires.
Sun Lakes Country Clu
The Sun Lakes Country Club hosts active golf events, from men's and women's blind draw tournaments to discrete group visits when you decide you want to play the course. It also has a restaurant with oak-paneled walls and a friendly atmosphere that serves brunch each Sunday, with no reservations required. It is the perfect place to take your family for a relaxing weekend meal and to start your Sunday if you want to partake in one of the other recreational activities later at the club. There are indoor and outdoor pools, multi-purpose recreation rooms, and a fitness center, giving patrons a lot to choose from regardless of your particular taste for recreation.
