ABOUT MIAMI & MIAMI APARTMENT RENTALS

Miami…  Just the name conjures up color and excitement – palm trees, flamingos, margaritas, beautiful people dressed in beach attire, year-round sunshine and semi-tropical weather.  Considered the gateway to South America and the Caribbean, Miami is an international business and leisure city.

MIAMI ATTRACTIONS

Miami hosts many festivals to celebrate the city’s rich ethnic heritage.  In January, the city celebrates the annual Three Kings Festival.  This traditional Hispanic holiday attracts well over 50,000 visitors to famous “Calle Ocho,” the heart of Miami’s Cuban community.  Not be outdone, the black community celebrates Black History Month with the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Parade.  The Miami Carnaval, another celebration of the City’s Cuban and Hispanic heritage, lasts for ten days and features live music, entertainment, and great food.  The Miami/Bahamas Goombay festival in Coconut Grove showcases Bahamian culture.

Miami also claims a unique honor in the United States for having two national parks -- Everglade National Park, a unique, untamed ecosystem found nowhere else on Earth, and Biscayne National Park, the only living reef within the continental United States.

MIAMI DINING

Miami offers a rich mixture of cuisines from traditional southern “soul food” to Cuban, Caribbean, seafood and everything in between. For a unique taste of what’s known as “Floribbean” food, try Ortanique on the Mile, or the Ocean View Bar and Bistro.  For Cuban food, try any one of the Cuban restaurants along Calle Ocho.  Miami is home to many quality steak houses like the Capital Grille.  The Bubba Gump Shrimp Company is great for seafood and Joe’s Stone Crab Restaurant has prime meat and poultry dishes along with stone crabs and other south Florida seafood delicacies.

MIAMI NIGHTLIFE

The nightlife in and around Miami is the stuff of legends.  Miami has a wide variety of nightclubs, dance clubs, theaters and places to hear live music of all varieties.  Start downtown at Brick’s Nightclub with three distinct and exciting spaces -- the Main Room, Jade Patio, and the Sky Lounge.  Or try Cameo-Vice over on Miami Beach for hip hop and house music downstairs at Cameo and rock’n’roll and 80s music upstairs at Vice.  And while you’re at the Beach, stop by the historic Art Deco District and visit Mango’s Tropical Café for a nice Caribbean vibe.  Or try Mansion Nightclub, where various musical celebrities host parties.
