Take a trip into the past by visiting the Brazoria County Historical Museum. The museum was designed to preserve the county’s rich past through a vast collection of artifacts and documents related to the area. Located in the county’s old courthouse that was constructed in 1897, the museum offers both regular exhibits and special events taking place throughout the year to educate visitors. You can also stop by and view the Stephen F. Austin statue, a 60-foot tall statue depicting the Father of Texas that is an absolutely breathtaking sight to see.
Fun for the whole family takes place at the Brazoria County Fair. The fair is a nine-day fall event that takes place in October of each year. It spans 120 acres and has something for the entire family to enjoy. Livestock shows, rodeos, and other live entertainment are on hand, along with craft and art exhibits. When you need to entertain the little ones, stop by the carnival rides or games. Food vendors are available throughout the fair as well so you have everything you need to spend the day enjoying this annual good time.
