Altamonte Springs, Florida

Altamonte Springs is an inland suburb of Orlando-Kissimmee but that doesn't mean it is without water. The 42,000 people who live in the city have beautiful Cranes Roost Lake which is a downtown beauty. When you begin the search for your Altamonte Springs apartment, know that it is a car dependent city although there is county wide bus service to get you to the airport or into Orlando.

Fun on the Lake

Uptown Altamonte refers to the main area of town. It is a unique city center and features planned high rise developments, street levels shops and views of the lake. There's literally something planned for every night of the week in the area from concerts to family events to circus acts. The city has a number of parks with various recreational activities and the golfer will be pleased with the number of nearby courses. You'll find terrific shopping at the Altamonte Mall too.

Worth the Wait

Most of Altamonte's restaurants are concentrated along State Drive and within a short distance you'll find quite a range of cuisines. First Watch Restaurant gets the highest ratings for fantastic breakfasts but they also serve other meals too. A great diner type place. Bubbalou's Bodacious Barbeque may be a Southern chain but don't tell that to the people who wait in line for delicious smoked dishes. Ill Paradiso Cafe for Italian and the Habana Grill for excellent Cuban food should be places you check out.

Friendly Bars

The best bars in Altamonte are smaller, local places. Timmy Mack's is great for not only having a few beers but for darts, pool, and watching games on t.v. It's casual without being a dive bar and a great place for new people in town because people there are so friendly. Even more local in feel is Pretzel's Pub and Bobby G's ...both are pubs and both have some great regulars. For upscale nights out, head into Orlando or easier yet to Winter Park to places like Tom and Jerry's Lounge for a little jazz or the Wine Room.Once in your Altamonte Springs apartment, you'll learn quickly which direction to go for a night out.
