Luckily, to help those interested in pursuing such a hobby, the town is also host to Absecon Bay Sportsman Center, an all-purpose fishing tackle and equipment shop that has been stocking the boats and tackle boxes of Absecon's most avid fisherman for years. Offering motor repairs and great tips on where to go, the shop also hosts the Absecon Bay Striper Safari, a guided water tour taking explorers to local waters including Little Egg Inlet to Great Egg Inlet.

Absecon Public School

Absecon is not only about the waterfront. Residents also rave about the local schools. The Absecon Public School district serves almost 900 students in a focused, small-classroom style, in grades kindergarten through 8. While they are focused on programs that create responsibility in their students, the school district is known for helping foster a spirited connection among students and teachers for the community of Absecon and the small-town environment that defines it. The school district, which helps students achieve the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards hopes that all students in their classrooms begin a journey in Absecon to become lifelong learners.

Absecon Wildlife Mana

The Absecon Wildlife Management Area, right across the Absecon Bay from the Absecon mainland, is a perfect place to take the family for a picnic or a stroll almost year round. From docking stations located along Absecon Bay, visitors can take a quick water voyage across the calm waters to visit more than 3,700 acres of open salt marsh habitat on Absecon Island. Sheltered by lowland forest, a residential area offers great views of Absecon Bay, and the Atlantic County Utilities Authority wind farm back toward the mainland. A fishing and paddling area is also open when the weather is warm.
