Abilene, Texas

Located in central Texas, Abilene has a population of just over 120,000. It is now a fast growing city but manages to rank #1 in public education for the State of Texas. It is a healthy mixture of business and residential areas making it a very good town to live in.As with most Texas towns, you'll want to own a car here and should take into consideration your commute when you begin your search for your Abilene apartment.

University Culture

As home to six universities, junior colleges and vocational colleges, much centers around the college campuses for cultural activities. The city's Arts Alliance has begun an effort to focus on the arts, and you'll find plenty of venues like the restored Paramount Theatre, The Abilene Philharmonic, The Grace Museum, the Center for Contemporary Arts, and The National Center for Children's Illustrated Literature. There are 29 parks and three athletic complexes available for residents. There are also a number of annual festivals including ten days of the West Texas Fair and Rodeo each September.
